It is a little more than a fortnight that Google Plus has appeared on the internet-scape but it has already started showing its presence. The internet marketers and SEO experts are showing a lot of curiosity in knowing how this new social networking product from Google is going to affect the organic search rankings.
However, no official survey or study has yet been made, we do have some speculative ideas, and some of them are mentioned out here.
1. Search Rankings will be influenced by the Social Components.
Well, Google+ has just made its entry, but several social components were already working much before it came into being. Much before one could see a +1 button, the Web Pages on the search engine result pages were much influenced by Twitter and Facebook, even though the effects weren’t immediate but it did matter a lot and it still works the same way.
The little earlier, the number of times a link got retweeted decided how it was going to be indexed on Google. However with the coming up of Google’s real time search feature the impact of the tweets on the search result declined.
Now with the coming up of Google Plus and +1 button all the social activities are now more profound on Google itself, so the likelihood of social components like +1 effecting the organic ranking of a page it much higher than one would consider.
2. Google+ may help in getting indexed somewhat like Twitter did.
Recently, in an experiment, a series of unique and un-indexed URLs were created and were then shared on Twitter before Google started up its real time search feature that declined the value of tweets in the ranking and also after this action from Google, it was found that even though Google was no longer considering the tweets yet it aided in the indexation of the pages.
And again another experiment was held in which URLs were shared through Google Plus and it was found that in just 2 hours, the pages that were being tested appeared at Rank 1 on Google, this made it quite clear that this social product from Google does help in getting the pages indexed however it doesn’t work as fast and quick as Twitter used to do before.
Well these, speculations do suggest that +1 is going to do really well in the future in getting your pages indexed. But the future should be left in the hands of the future itself and shouldn’t be speculated now. It will too early to say that +1 button would be or would not be very useful.
